Typical Progression Route

English Language courses can be provided for you based on your individual needs. There are a number of courses available to you, from year long English courses to four week, pre-sessional courses. Most Universities and language schools state that it will take 10 weeks to increase language capabilities by 0.5 IELTS.

The courses run before the main entry points for degree programmes in September and January so if you want a 10 week English course, it will begin in June or October.

International foundation years are available for students who want to improve their language skills at the same time as improving their study and academic skills. They are designed to give students experience of the Higher Education system in order to help you do well in your degree programme. Entrance requirements for international foundation years are typically IELTS 4.5 or 5.

The majority of Undergraduate degree programmes in the UK begin in September with some allowing you to begin in January. Most run for three years with a fourth year of work placement sometimes available as part of the course.

Masters degree programmes last one year in most cases with entrance points in September and January.

Upon completion of courses, most of the Universities represented by Njia will guarantee you a place on the next course as illustrated in the diagram below.
